Her History
Elpis began her career off as a mid-bulk carrier intended for making fast runs along Boros. The owners used a lot of the spare parts on the planet to refurbish much of the engine in her to move faster than the standard Firefly could hold. However there were many problems with emissions and heat signatures that resulted from the alterations. Boros was a junkyard however, leaving pretty much no care to polluting the planet surface. However, as the Unification War began and Elpis was brought into commission for reconnaiscence work the emissions were dropped and internally many heat-reflecting panels were placed for use to help hide against sensors in space. However that plan backfired and because of this Elpis tends to run rather hot, so her higher speed is not given too many times to be showcased until dire events call for it. Dranol has still yet to have attempted to refurbish the interior or exterior of the ship to try to alter the problems.
As stated Elpis was intended for reconnaiscence. She had a number of high-class military sensor arrays and computer cooperating systems working together. This is often stated proudly by Captain Dranol [albeit in boastful exaggeration] that whenever they're running their systems, Elpis will see who's coming long before anybody sees her.

Numerous storage panels and 'hidey-holes' extended behind various walls.

Shuttles lock to ship through use of passcode for launch (can be shorted from cockpit).
